I have been in business since 1987 and I started out cleaning carpet and furniture.
Then got into water damage by extracting and removing the water and drying out homes and businesses. This moved into fire and smoke damage as well as mold removal and all of these seem to go hand in hand in taking care of the needs of others but my real passion is answering questions about mold and educating others about mold in there home as well as businesses.
So, how do you know if you have a water damage issue to your home or crawl space?
First, you want to perform an infrared scan to determine if you have water that might be hidden behind walls and ceilings with the use of an infrared camera or also known as a thermal scanner to determine if walls or ceiling have moisture issues. You can also use penetrating moisture meters or non penetrating moisture meters to determine what the moisture readings are.
Another thing you can do is take air samples of the air to determine what kind of levels of mold exist in the home or business and this is referred to air sampling and once the air samples are taken you can send the samples off to the lab for testing. You can also have swab and lift off sample taken if you suspect or it looks like organic growth on the wall or the ceiling or anywhere else in the home and send this off for testing.
